Some of my favorite online shopping websites (on a budget)...
Amazon
www.amazon.com
Pros: Amazon is an incredible resource! You can find anything on Amazon from jewelry to shoes to high end dresses. International vendors who use Amazon make it easy to get wholesale prices, so you can get clothes at a steal!
Cons: If the product is from China, expect a 7-14 day shipping.
Ideal when shopping for: Basics and accessories like leggings, patterned tights, jewelry, shoes as well as specific garments like a particular color or style (i.e. search "red maxi skirts" and be amazed!)
Victoria's Secret Online
www.VictoriasSecret.com
Pros: Victoria's Secret is famous for making you look and feel sexy. Their clothing is designed to do exactly that! They feature an entire line of tops with built-in bras as well as everything from suits to dresses to swimwear to sweaters and everything in between (and underneath). Their sizing is very true to form and once you break the ice and order a few things, you will know how to order from them forever. You can even go into their live stores and try on items from the PINK line to get an idea of size before you pull the trigger shopping online.
Cons: None of us are Victoria's Secret models. But trust me, don't let that turn you off. Look at the clothing style and what the garment accentuates, not the model wearing it. Occasionally, you might find that the fabric is thinner than expected, etc. but the customer service and return policy is fantastic, so don't fret. Take the plunge.
Ideal when shopping for: Pretty much anything and everything! The only thing they lack in is jewelry and scarves.
Lulu's
www.lulus.com
Pros: Their products are feminine and cost-efficient. Great place to find party dresses and flawy tops.
Cons: The sizes run a little small, so be careful and don't be afraid to go up a size when ordering. Size is just a number, not a state of mind.
Ideal when shopping for: Feminine items like short and long dresses (seriously don't miss their "multi-way" dress in a variety of awesome colors), crop tops, high-waisted shorts, and more. This is also a user-friendly site that allows you to search garments by color and/or size to help you save time.
Etsy
www.etsy.com
Pros: This is a crafters haven! You can find one-of-a-kind as well as vintage-inspired pieces from a variety of vendors. You're not only benefitting your closet, but also supporting real people who create art for you to wear. Be prepared for people to ask, "where did you get that?"
Cons: You want to search with a purpose. It's such a large resource, you can lose hours digging through pages of awesome stuff.
Ideal when shopping for: Unique accessories or statement pieces.
